Slow going here in blogville. I guess a full-time writer who's deluged with paid assignments doesn't have much time or inclination to write even more for free. Now, if I could find someone willing to pay me for these updates...

Ethan, our 17-month-old, was a fantastic sleeper for nearly a year. He'd go to bed at eight without so much as a peep, then sleep a solid 12 hours straight. We'd gotten very accustomed to sleeping in until almost 8 a.m. every day. Now all of a sudden he's up at six, chattering like a madman. Well, it was nice while it lasted.

Freelance work continues to come in at a steady clip, which is very gratifying given the sudden demise of Handheld Computing. My work life is happier than it's been in years. Unfortunately, pay rates aren't what they used to be. I'm doing as much work as ever, but making less money. So it's two parts joy, one part frustration. Not a bad ratio, I suppose.

Cool CD Alert: In the Buff is an a-capella group that performs hit-single covers--everything from the Kinks to Billy Idol to Verve Pipe. Very nifty and amusing; worth a listen.

Peace!
